The recently concluded Zee Cine Awards 2012 saw several lifelong dreams come true. And one such dream was that of Zee TV’s leading ladies Mitali Nag (Krishna of Afsar Bitiya), Asha Negi (Poorvi of Pavitra Rishta) and Rati Pandey (Indira of Hitler Didi) when they had the opportunity of coming face-to-face and interacting with their heartthrob – superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
As if the news of their attending the glitzy, prestigious awards show in Macau was not enough to send the ladies over the moon, there was yet another delightful surprise to bowl them over when they landed there - A chance to be a part of the Indian and international media alongside the King Khan and ZEEL MD & CEO, Punit Goenka at a press conference on the day of the awards soirée.
At the press conference, when Mr Goenka asked SRK for his words of advice to the three leading ladies on reaching the pinnacle of success after having similarly started his career on television, Shah Rukh said in a lighter vein, “I have a tip for you three beautiful women – Just keep hugging me! Give me a hug in the morning, afternoon and evening daily and watch how your life just changes for the better…all those who have hugged me have had a successful life!” He then spoke philosophically, “As an actor, don’t ask your audience what they have given you … ask yourself what it is that YOU can give them as an actor.” Not about to let such a golden opportunity pass them by, the three ladies immediately huddled on stage to hug the hero they’ve loved and admired for so many years.
Speaking about their brush with the Badshaah of Bollywood, Asha Negi said, “Sharing the dias with Shah Rukh has been the absolute highlight of our entire Zee Cine Awards experience. He is so down to earth and charming, we were completely floored by him.” Rati Pandey said, “It took us a while to digest that we were actually hugging Shah Rukh Khan. He spoke so well at the press conference and his words of advice to us as an actor are something we will always cherish and live by! There’s just one regret that I am left with and that is the fact that I did not ask him when I will get the chance to work with him. I was too overwhelmed at the mere sight of SRK to think coherently and collect my thoughts”
Mitali Nag added. “If Krishna has a dream of becoming an officer, Mitali has always dreamt of meeting Shah Rukh Khan because I have been in love with him for over 15 years now….I just enjoyed the moment of sharing space with him at this prestigious platform…It’s a dream come true!”
At the awards soirée, later, the fabulous trio went up on stage and expressed their love and affection for their role model Vidya Balan who started her career as a Zee actress and has carved a distinct niche for herself in the film fraternity with bravura performances year after year. A visibly touched Vidya thanked the three ladies and blew kisses at them from the audience. All in all, the awards experience in Macau turned out to be something they will cherish for a lifetime.

As the host of the recently concluded Zee Cine Awards 2012 in Macau, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was neck-deep in rehearsals through the entire course of the two days that led up to the awards ceremony. So determined was Shah Rukh to put on a stellar act that he practically skipped his meals, let go of his sleep and rehearsed non-stop till 7:30am on the very day of the awards show, only to rehearse again by 10am and be ready for the press conference by 11am.
Even after the awards soirée drew to an end well past midnight, there was a small segment that remained to be shot with Shah Rukh requiring him to dance to his popular chartbuster Chammak Chhallo. The thorough professional that he is, Shah Rukh delivered the goods without as much as raising an eyebrow. In fact, insiders reveal that it was he who coached choreographer Shiamak Davar’s troupe on the steps of the ditty since the song sequence in question was from his film Ra.One and he was better acquainted with the steps.
A source revealed, “After the awards ceremony was over around 1:30am, we still had to shoot the Chammak Challo act with Shah Rukh and since it was meant to be one of those impromptu jigs, it was not entirely choreographed and rehearsed. Besides, as a team, we had not performed Chammak Challo in the past. So, planning the steps and shooting the act could well have turned into an all night-ordeal. Thankfully, Shah Rukh saved the situation. Chammak Challo, being an act he has performed to several times over, SRK took over the mantle of choreographer and showed us the steps. With his intervention, we were able to miraculously wrap up by 4am. He turned out to be such a God send! He even sweetly hugged all the dancers at the end for having stayed up so late to shoot. Such rare humility, positivity and the attitude to help us to put up a good show!”

Mithun Chakraborty, Remo D’Souza and Terence Lewis are all seen sporting tiny ponytails this season!
The gala episode of DID 3 will not only unveil the Top 18 contestants in style but will also unravel three men in ponytails. Masters Remo D’Souza and Terence Lewis along with Grandmaster Mithun Chakraborty are all seen sporting a ponytail and looking uber cool!
Just when Dada was about to say that all the men on the floor apart from the contestants are sporting that extra tuft of hair on their backs, his attention was drawn towards Jay Bhanushali who chose to keep a cropped look. Dada asked, “Jay why don’t you join the league of extraordinary gentlemen and grow a ponytail too?” This season Jay had taken it to his heart not to get intimidated by Dada’s banters on him and quickly retorted, “Dada I am out of your league. I have always been a ladies’ man, pony or no pony!!!” No sooner did Jay say this than the entire floor burst out laughing making him search for the nearest wall to bang his head against.
“What’s new this season is an unanimous question that is asked to all three of us wherever we go… so Mithun Da and Remo both decided to sport a pony like me!” said Master Terence. Mithun Da added, “When we have decided to raise the bar in every aspect of the show, why should we shy away from sporting a new look? Not only will audiences get to see never before seen performances and a grand set, they will also see us experimenting with our attire and look.”
Let us wait and watch how our audiences react to the new look….Watch out this space for more details on India’s ace reality show, DID Season 3.
Tune into the gala episode of DID Season 3 this Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th January 7pm, only on Zee TV.

It’s after nearly three months of anxiety, sleepless nights and intense moments that the aspirants of ‘Sunehri Taqdeer ki Topi’ have left the gruelling audition process behind. It’s time now to announce the ADBHUT 18 contestants who have crossed all barriers successfully and sealed their place in the hearts of Master Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis and Remo D’ Souza. All those hours of sweating and stretching will be now rewarded with a chance to be on the coveted stage of Dance India Dance and dazzle the viewers with breathtaking performances. The dream to dance on a song choreographed by the Masters; to hear the burst of applause by the audiences and to get a grand salute by Grandmaster Mithun Da will all come true for these lucky 18 contestants now! Watch out for the Gala opening episode of DID on 14th and 15th Jan at 7pm on Zee TV.
The much admired Masters of the show, Remo D’Souza, Geeta Kapoor and Terence Lewis announced ADBHUT 18 who have secured their places in ‘REMO KE RANGEELEY’, ‘GEETA KI GANG’ and ‘TERENCE KI TOLI’.
Said Mr. Ashish Golwalkar, Non Fiction Head of Zee TV on the occasion, “This is a momentous occasion for us. After weeks of rigor, contemplation and deliberation we have finally chosen our ‘Adbhut 18’ contestants. The contestants were handpicked totally on the basis of their skill, innovative presentation, versatility and ‘never give up’ attitude towards dance. These contestants not only use their creativity but also mould themselves beautifully into the style of each Master. The desire to perform and excel is so strong in these contestants that it has only helped us to raise the bar of the show in terms of its competitiveness. Zee as a channel takes immense pride in the fact that Dance has boomed in popularity in India because of a show like Dance India Dance. I urge the viewers who have still not tuned into the show, to definitely watch out for the Gala opening episode of DID on 14th and 15th Jan, I promise you, it will take your breath away for sure.”
The selection procedure was an arduous task. After auditioning participants from 22 cities, 100 contestants were called to Mumbai for the Mega auditions. In the mega audition, the hundred contestants had to learn 3 styles of choreography i.e. Hip Hop style of Master Remo, Bollywood style of Master Geeta and Contemporary style of Master Terence, all in one single day. Out of the hundred, the 36 contestants who were successful in emulating all the three styles of the Masters with élan were selected for the next round, which was the solo choreography round. In the solo choreography, the contestants who showed maximum promise were selected in the TOP 18 and were certified as Adbhut Athara.
Watch out for the ‘Adbhut 18’ who’ll burn the floor with their magnanimous performances. Tune in to Zee TV every Sat & Sun at 7pm to catch the dance mania!

The Zee Rishtey Awards 2011 ceremony, telecasted on 31st December, was a grand celebration of the spirit of Zee TV – a memorable evening when the entire constellation of Zee TV’s most popular stars descended on a single platform and set the stage ablaze with breathtaking performances.
Here is a glimpse of which bahu, which beta and which saas walked away with their well deserved awards. The star crossed lovers – Dev and Radhika (Avinash Sachdev and Rubina Dilaik) of Chhoti Bahu won the Favourite Jodi award. The Pavitra Rishta Parivaar won the Favourite Parivaar award. The category of Popular face Male was won by Karan (Karan V. Grover) of Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli and the Popular Face Female award was won by Archana (Ankita Lokhande) of Pavitra Rishta. Favorite Saas Bahu Rishta award went to Bharti and Mona (Krutika Desai & Sara Khan) of Ram Milaye Jodi. The crowd was pleasantly surprised when the Favourite Khalnayak award didn’t go to Usha Nadkarni but was shared by Ghaznavi (Vikramjeet Virk) of Shobha Somnath ki and Barkha (Benaf Dadachanjee) of Chhoti Bahu. The Favourite Naya Sadasya Award Male and Female went to Lovely (Ragini Nandwani) and Kartik ( Mukul Harish) respectively. The Bhagonwali team could not contain themselves when Guddu Shukla (Himmanshoo Malhotra)was awarded the Favourite Mastikhor Kirdaar. The Favorite Show award was bagged by the Rajshree Family for Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli and the Zee Ki Shaan award was won by the very well deserved, Usha Nadkarni. In the Non Fiction sphere, the Favorite Guru – Shishya award went to Adnan Sami and Niladri Chatterjee for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs whereas the Favourite Non - Fiction show of the year went to DID Doubles. The Best Anchor Award was won by Jay Bhanushali for Dance India Dance.
The evening saw noted luminaries of the entertainment industry walk down the Red Carpet clothed in their glamorous best! Some of the eminent names were, yesteryears mega star Poonam Dhillon, the very suave and popular brother duo - Rohit Roy and Ronit Roy, concert pianist and acclaimed singer, Adnan Sami and the very ravishing Urmila Matondkar. The event was also attended by the Golden Man, Bappi Da, the controversy queen Rakhi Sawant and television heartthrobs, Apurva Agnihotri and Ejaz Khan. The event kickstarted with anchors Jay Bhanushali and Karan V. Grover making their entry in an auto rickshaw, Mumbai’s ubiquitous mode of transport for the common man. Many more well known celebrities were brought into the grounds in grand vintage cars.
The charming trio – Jay Bhanushali, Mona Singh and Karan. V. Grover - kept the audiences in splits with their witty wisecracks throughout the evening as anchors of the awards ceremony. Some of the most memorable performances of the evening included a heartwarming dance performance by the nation’s sweethearts, Ankita Lokhande & Hiten Tejwani, your very own Archana and Manav of Pavitra Rishta. The performance traced the survival of their onscreen love affair amidst Mumbai’s struggle for existence with a stunning visual element in the backdrop. Lovely (Ragini Nandwani), the chulbuli bahu of Mrs. Bindeshwari Kaushik, surprised everyone with her magic act in which she made her stern saas (Vibha Chibber) disappear from the stage! The crowd went into a state of frenzy as the three handsome hunks, Karan Grover, Kinshuk Mahajan and Himanshoo Malhotra turned into desi superheroes - G-One, Singham and Bodyguard - to save their damsels in distress. There was also a fun filled act where Hitler Didi’s family sang a parody of songs for her in an attempt to bring a smile on her face.
The evening also had its own share of historical drama on stage with the Shobha Somnath Ki leads, Shobha and Bhimdev swaying to a romantic number and later fighting the evil Ghaznavi (Vikramjeet Virk). Senior actors showed the world that ‘even we can dance saala’ with their superbly choreographed act that paid a tribute to Bollywood’s dancing legends, Helen, Bindu, Shammi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty. The audience applauded and sang along loudly on every song from the act, Rishton Ka Mela, performed by Dev – Radhika, Karan–Abha and Mona-Anukalp, and made it an evening to remember. The event was also peppered with comedy acts and gags by Ali Azgar and Suresh Menon. The decibel levels reached its peak when dancing superstars of Dance India Dance – Shakti, Salman, Mayuresh, Alisha and Falon along with Mentor Remo D’Souza, Geeta Kapoor and Terence Lewis rocked the floor with their mind boggling performances.
Stay tuned to Zee TV for all your favourite shows!
