Starting from 21 May, weekdays at 4:30pm, Rock The Vibe is an entertainment show that will get audiences talking – with discussions on a new topic every day, designed especially for the Asians of Britain. Adding a touch of glamour – special episodes will see lucky callers getting to speak with celebrities. And the show has pulled out all stops  to feature UK’s global talent Jay Sean in its very first episode on Monday 21 May, 4:30pm.

From relationships to marriage, fashion, food, movies, Bollywood, celebrities to local happenings – a range of Brit-Asian themes will be explored in each episode. All this will be in direct discussion with the viewers themselves – who will be invited to share their views and experiences via calls and messages. The show will make the most of the new-age power of social media in TV, with  each episode going beyond TV to discussions on the web, Facebook and Twitter.

The show will be presented by Zing’s very own VJ and Actor-Producer Asad Shan, current presenter on Zing’s other local offering Brit’s Bollywood. Speaking of the show, he says “This will be one cool experience for the people! The show is bursting with a variety of highlights. With so much going on in each episode the viewers are in for a treat! I cannot wait to get talking with the young Asians of Britain - finally they get a show built around them.”

Discussions on the show will be alongside Bollywood, Pop, Urban, Bhangra and alternate music, with viewers again able to view their choices. A mix of competitions and give-aways will also get the vibe flowing.

Zing will be celebrating the start of the show with a Rock The Vibe Launch Party on 19 May, at Jewel Bar, St Pauls, London, in association with Voodoo Entertainment. Join in for the party of the year!

Given that the actor plays the role of a remarried dad on Zee TV’s Punarivaah, sources from the sets have overheard the actor giving suggestions to the writer-producer Shashi Mittal on introducing a Karate track to thestoryline wherein Yash (his character) can bond with his wife’s son Ansh over the self-defence form.

“I think that being a dad to a small boy can be an uphill task at times, especially when he has known no paternal love before. What better way for a father to bond with his son than a macho sport like karate! While I teach Ansh the moves, not only will I get a chance to work out but I will also put to use the years I spent in training. Given the wonderful response I have received from viewers and my fans, it is heartening to know that Yash’s character and the show have been well received by theaudiences. So any opportunity that I get to make Yash more relatable, I’ll jump at it! ” Said Gurmeet.

Of late, while Indira (played by Rati Pandey) has been seen enjoying some romantic moments with hero Rishi, her stay on cloud nine will be very short lived as Jhumpa connives to create problems in her life. And how will Jhumpa create problems? Well, she will hire a notorious goon to wreak havoc in Indira’s life. Enter, Liliput as the ‘notorious’ goon - Lalan Kasai - who is a petty thief with lofty aspirations of being a don. He is a very funny character and will incidentally be Jhumpa’s rakhi brother who abets her in all her wrongdoings.

“Yes, I am part of Hitler Didi. I find the show extremely real and relatable. It presents a very natural view of the kind of life a real middle-class Delhiite residing in Chandni Chowk leads. My character is an interesting one with ample scope to make the audience roll with laughter.  Besides, the team and the channel are a delight to work with,” confirmed Liliput who has already begun shooting for his entry which will be telecast this week.

And where did the pigeon come from? Li’l Sanaya came in to audition for the judges along with her pet pigeon ‘Udi Baba’ who she apparently named after she saw judge Marzi Pestonji being called by the same name in DID Doubles. Dancing to ‘Masakali’ à la Sonam Kapoor in ‘Delhi 6′ with a pigeon on her head, the judges couldn’t help but be charmed by this adorable act put on by an even cuter kid. So post her performance, when Sanaya requested them to allow her to introduce them to her pet pigeon ‘Udi Baba’, they readily agreed.

While fellow judges Geeta Kapur andTerence Lewiswere seen petting and hugging Sanaya’s l’il pet, the entire studio doubled up with laughter as Marzi, who was offered a chance to hold ‘Udi Baba’, flatly refused to go anywhere near the bird, turned heel and exited the studio faster than anyone could catch him. Turns out that the usually unfazed Marzi is deathly afraid of birds and tries to avoid having to do anything with them, particularly in enclosed spaces where they could flap their wings on his face! Awww, that’s cute, Marzi. Your soft under-belly is now exposed!
