A major one-day festival will be held on Trafalgar Square on the 24th September 2011 to celebrate Eid; the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
Eid in the Square is being organised by the Eid Committee with the support of the GLA. The Committee is drawn from a variety of groups representing the various Muslim communities in London. There are one million Muslims in London. However, it is probably the most diverse community in London hailing from South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Henna artist, Pavan is the Guinness World Record Holder for being the fastest in her trade. In just one hour she painted a staggering 314 armbands – where each design had to be different from the other – beating the previous record by a mind-blowing 100 armbands.
Pavan then coordinates her bespoke designs to complement outfits and jewellery, resulting in plenty of 'wow-factor'. Immersing herself into the world of henna and design from the tender age of seven, she went professional five years ago and is now one of the leading henna artists in the UK.
Rakin Niass, Known previously as a member Cash Crew and M2M, Rakin will be hitting the stage solo. He is a rap artist who incorporates Spoken Word and reggae fusion.
Shide Boss, signed to Sony Records' brand new label Karman Entertainment, fresh from Nottingham, of Pakistani origin, sings in English and Punjabi. His debut track "Ni Sohniye" is currently doing very well

Akeem, Popular French Muslim mc. Akeem is known for both his music and his workshops which are aimed at promoting music to the younger generation. He performs rap, hip-hop and Spoken Word and regularly cooperates with organisations such as London's North African Arts.
Cheb Nacim, Cheb Nacim performs with the Rai Music Band. His original voice and modern rhythmic musical style merges modern Rai with a traditional music base. He has studied the art form since childhood and was educated at the 'El Mousiliya' school in Algeria.
